Carlos B. Castillo (FIU, BA, '88)
Partner of Seidman, Prewitt, DiBello & Lopez in 2005. Mr. Castillo's areas of practice include general and complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts in Florida and other jurisdictions, as well as responses to government investigations and white collar defense. Mr. Castillo represents clients in business tort litigation, contract litigation, real estate litigation, distributor and dealer litigation, lender liability litigation, securities litigation, and product liability litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Castillo served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney's Office in Miami, Florida (USAO) from February 2002 to April 2005. During his tenure there, Mr. Castillo served as a Special Counsel to the United States Attorney on legal and policy matters. Prior to serving as a Special Counsel, Mr. Castillo was assigned to the Major Crimes Section, where he prosecuted a broad range of criminal offense and first chaired a number of federal court jury trials. Before joining the USAO, Mr. Castillo was a senior litigation attorney with the international law firm of White & Case, LLP, where he worked for over ten years. He is a former board member of the FIU Alumni Association and a Lifetime member of the Association. Mr. Castillo received the FIU Service award in 2000, and worked to promote the FIU College of Law. He is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he received his J.D. in 1991. He joined the FIU Foundation Board of Directors in November 2007. Mr. Castillo and his wife Susana are residents of Coral Gables. |
