 Carlos A. Duart
(FIU BBA, M.S., '94, '99)
President and CEO of Metric Engineering. Mr. Duart’s responsibilities include overseeing the operations and business development, and providing strategic direction for a staff of over 300 employees in Florida. He has headed Metric's general services contract with FIU since 2003. Mr. Duart has a strong affection for F.I.U. because it gave him the opportunity to further his education, career and life, and it afforded this same opportunity to his parents. Prior to his current position, he served as Metric's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2004 to 2007. He began his career at Metric in 1992 while attending FIU, and has also worked at Price Waterhouse. In the community, Mr. Duart serves on the board of The Children's House. He has been a member of the FIU Foundation Board of Directors since September 2008. He grew up in South Florida and graduated from Columbus High School, where he graduated top 10 in his class. He and his wife Regina are residents of Miami-Dade county. |
