Luis E. Perez (FIU, MSM, '78)
Senior Location Executive at Ricoh/IBM. As of 2003, Mr. Perez led the IBM Latin America Executive Briefing Center in Coral Gables and was e-business marketing executive for IBM Latin America, responsible for delivering the IBM message on e-business and On Demand IBM technology to the region. He was appointed Business Unit Executive for General Business-South Florida at IBM in January, 1995. Mr. Perez has been a certified public accountant in the state of Florida since 1979 and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Florida Institute of CPAs, and the Cuban American CPA Association. He is a Trustee of United Way of Miami Dade. In 2006 he was affiliated with The Liberty City Charter School Project, in 2005 he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the VNA, Campaign Cabinet of the United Way of Dade County, and Trustee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. He holds a bachelor's in finance from the University of Miami and a master's in accounting from Florida International University. He has been a member of the FIU Foundation Board of Directors since May 1995 and he is a former member of the FIU Advisory Council for the College of Engineering & Computing. He is married to Lourdes F. Perez and their daughter, Vivian Perez, graduated from FIU in 2006 with a BA in Elementary Education and in 2006 with a MS in Human Resources Management. Mr. Perez and his wife reside in Coral Gables. |
