Ray E. Marchman
President and Chief Executive Officer of The Marketing Wheel, Inc. Mr. Marchman holds a B.A, from Emory University and a J.D. from the University of Miami. After serving as a jet fighter pilot in the US Air Force and graduating from law school he was appointed by Gov. Farris Bryant as legal assistant to the governor. After leaving the governor’s office, he joined the Miami law firm of Shutts & Bowen. From there he joined The Northern Trust Company in Chicago. He rose through the company from trust officer to Senior Vice President in charge of Trust Marketing. From 1977-1982 he left Northern to join the First National Bank of Atlanta as Executive Vice President in charge of Trust & Private Banking. In 1982 he rejoined Northern Trust at its Florida affiliate in Miami and developed Northern’s marketing strategy as it expanded from trust and investment services to full banking, emphasizing investment and private banking for the successful individuals and institutions in Florida. He was tapped by the parent to head the entire company’s marketing department and commuted from Miami to Chicago for several years, retiring in 2001 but still retained as a consultant by Northern Trust. Northern Trust Corp. headquartered in Chicago is one of the largest money managers and banks in the nation with offices in 16 states and abroad. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Florida International University Foundation since March 2000 and is currently Chairman of the University & Community committee. He is also President of the Board of the Wolfsonian-FIU Museum on Miami Beach and is directly involved in the current branding & marketing campaign of FIU. He and his wife Sylvia are residents of Miami. |
