 Marcos A. Perez
(FIU, BBA, MBA, '90, '00)
Vice President of Business Development for Leon Medical Centers, Inc. in Fall 2008. Previously, Mr. Perez had been a Managing Director and partner with MBF Healthcare Partners, a healthcare private equity firm. Prior to MBF, he was an employee of FIU from 2003 through 2007. Mr. Perez served as FIU President Modesto A. Maidique's chief of staff while pursuing his doctorate in leadership studies. He subsequently served as vice president for Administration, where he oversaw, among other areas, the construction of more than $167 million in capital improvement projects underway at both the Biscayne Bay and University Park campuses. He then led the Division of External Relations which included Marketing, Government Relations, Fundraising and Athletics. Before joining FIU, Mr. Perez worked in the beverage industry as Vice President and Managing Director of the Bacardi Beverage Company (U.S.) and Vice President and Commercial Director of Bacardi Caribbean Corporation. He holds an MBA and a Bachelors degree in Marketing and International Business from FIU and is a former member of the FIU men's tennis team. He has been a member of the FIU Foundation Board of Directors since May 2007. Mr. Perez and his family reside in Coral Gables. |
