 Ramiro A. Ortiz
President & CEO of BankUnited Financial Corporation. Mr. Ortiz has been with Bank United since 2002. His various positions in BankUnited have included Director, President and Chief Operating Officer (August 2002-September 2008), Director, President and Chief Executive Officer (since October 2008 to Present). His previous positions include Chairman and CEO (1981 to 2002) of SunTrust Bank, Miami; Chairman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (2001 to 2002) and Campaign Co-Chair of the United Way of Miami-Dade County (1999). Mr. Ortiz has been a member of the FIU Foundation Board of Directors since August 2004, where he also serves on the Dean's Council of the College of Business Administration. He and his wife Alicia reside in Pinecrest. |
