Carlos Sabater (FIU, BBA , '81)
Regional Managing Partner of Deloitte & Touche's Audit & Enterprise Risk Services. Deloitte is the world’s largest professional services firm focused on providing consistent, high quality, high value client service through a global strategy executed locally by more than 120,000 professionals in nearly 150 countries worldwide. Mr. Sabater joined Deloitte in 1983 and was admitted into the Firm’s partnership in the area of assurance and advisory services in 1994. He then went on to be the partner in charge of audit services in 1999, managing and overseeing the service delivery of the four geographical offices in South Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2001, Mr. Sabater was selected to serve as the managing partner and marketplace leader of the South Florida and Puerto Rico offices. In 2007, he was selected to serve in his current role as the managing partner and marketplace leader for all of the Florida and Puerto Rico offices of Deloitte. Mr. Sabater’s passion for community service has also driven him to serve in leadership roles for many of our community’s most important organizations including, Florida International University where he has served on the Board of Directors since September 2003 , the Deans Council of the School of Business and the School of Accounting Advisory Board, the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, the Miami Business Forum, the Orange Bowl Committee, the Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Centers Board of Directors, and the Board of Directors for Miami Dade College. Mr. Sabater enjoys living in South Florida, where he has a passion for boating, diving and fishing. He and his wife Carmen have two daughters - Erika, age 13 and Victoria, age 12.
